Riggs, Fairlane, and Wartrace

Our third group from Riggs, Fairlane, and Wartrace Churches of Christ (and others!) joined us for our third week of the summer. This group was unique as there were a total of nine churches incorporated into this group! They were our largest group so far, and around one-third of the group were newcomers. The leaders of this group and its members did an excellent job of spreading joy, love, and wisdom to our children this week!

The theme for this week revolved around celebrations. The group uniquely mixed fun into each of their lessons by having the kids engage in holiday-inspired activities ranging from an easter egg hunt to decorating cookies and finding a way to incorporate biblical lessons after these activities. Along with these inspiring lessons, we were blessed to have Luis, a man gifted in his speaking and dedication to the Lord. Luis used his gift to have numerous heart-to-heart conversations with the teen boys' dorm father and four of our teenage boys. The five were baptized right here on our campus after having these conversations with Luis! We thank the group this week, and especially Luis, for celebrating with and embracing our new brothers as they underwent this process.

Finally, this week’s group helped us tremendously by recessing the fridge into the wall in the Americano kitchen, allowing for more space. They also helped us by applying a fresh coat of paint to the wall that surrounds our city and renovating the playground behind the mediana dorm. This week came to a close with a night of celebration with all the kids. We looked back at the memories we made throughout the week and had many tears as first-time visitors experienced their first heartfelt goodbye here at the city.

We want to thank Riggs, Fairlane, and Wartrace for joining us this week and helping with their sacrifice and service.

Special thanks to Delaney Laur for running our social media this week!
